CocoMaya to open bakery

We popped in to see the lovely people at CocoMaya yesterday and found out that they’re planning on a move to just down the road and are opening a bakery next door to the chocolate shop - it all sounds wonderfully delicious. Their expansion also includes a cafe with chocolate drinks. We love the design of CocoMaya, it’s one of the most stylish chocolate shops in London, the fabulous taste of the owners who have fashion and retail backgrounds shines through and we can’t wait for this new project. http://www.cocomaya.co.uk ...Also on a slightly more gossipy note, we hear that two other London chocolate shops are looking to New York for their next ventures - watch this space for who they are and whether it’ll happen.
Artisan du Chocolat’s sea salted caramels voted No1 foodie favourite by OFM

Observer Food Monthly’s food editor Caroline Boucher is leaving the magazine since being there from it’s launch and as part of the 100th issue, her final issue, she’s listed her top 50 foodie favourites. No 1 is, of course, chocolate and she’s picked Artisan du Chocolat’s sea salted caramels as her most favourite food ever. The sea salted caramel was first created in France and Artisan du Chocolat brought the idea to the UK, sparking a trend that has resulted in every other chocolatier creating their own version. It’s a wonderful combination of flavours with the sea salt balancing out the sweetness of the caramel. Congratulations to Artisan, well deserved we say.
English country garden party Summer at Alderwood Chocolate Deli

July sees the launch of Alderwood’s ‘English Country Garden Party’; gorgeous summer chocolates and truffles infused with classic English flavours. Alderwood Chocolate Deli in Oldham, Lancashire have truffles from Hope & Greenwood; Earl Grey & Lemon, Rose & Violet, Lavender & Geranium and chocolates from James Chocolates; Rose, Lemon, Earl Grey, Orange Marmalade. They have bars from Montezumas; Orange & Geranium, Peppermint & Vanilla and are also launching their new ‘English Rose’ giftware range.
August sees the start of their ‘Strawberry’ themed promotion; where they’ll feature every kind of strawberry chocolate, bar and truffle you can think of along with launching a strawberry themed giftware range, and are hosting a ‘Strawberry Tea’ in aid of Breast Cancer Care on Friday 21st August.
