Academy of Chocolate Awards
Thursday 4th June
The Academy of Chocolate Awards ceremony was held on Tuesday in Central London. We had a really fantastic evening, chatting to lots of our chocolate friends and meeting new people. Details of the award winners can be found at www.academyofchocolate.org.uk.The product award winners were announced in February and presented with their certificates on Tuesday. There were also some special announcements at the event, Jo Fairley & Craig Sams were presented with the ‘outstanding contribution’ award for their amazing work in launching Green & Black’s and Amano were awarded the ‘most promising new chocolate producer’. Amano started making chocolate just a few years ago in 2006 and won a number of awards for their chocolate - they’re an amazing company and we were delighted that Art Pollard made the journey over from the US to be at the awards.

Artisan du Chocolat to open new chocolateria
Sunday 17th May
Artisan du Chocolat is very busy preparing to open its third store, this one in Westbourne Grove. Expanding on the chocolaterie concept that they launched in Selfridges last year, the shop will have a seating area - we're especially looking forward to the chocolate nibbles including hot chocolate fondant, salted caramel chocolate tart and chocolate mousse.
Artisan has collaborated with legendary cocktail bartender Nick Strangeway to create chocolate cocktails including one using cocoa pulp juice. It all looks very smart and sophisticated with a bespoke giant plantation light, a panoramic picture of a plantation and a mini conche. We can't wait for the 4th June.
