Demarquette Pure Range Launch & Sample: Mexico 64%

On each day of the week we will be launching one of 6 exciting new limited edition single origin and single estate cocoas as part of our unique ‘Pure Range’ - the only collection of its kind in the UK. Special sampling will take place at our Chelsea Chocolate shop on Fulham Road. Each cocoa has been carefully selected by British Chocolatier Marc Demarquette for its quality, finesse and unique aroma. The full ‘Pure Range’ collection of 16 exquisite and pure cocoas, which also includes the rare ‘wild’ Bolivian Cocoa, first introduced to the UK market by Demarquette in 2008, represents a truly sumptuous long-haul journey of highest quality cocoas an unprecedented ‘Taste the World Through Chocolate’ experience!

Tuesday 13th October:
Mexico 64% - strong and “masculine” musky wood presence with long lasting aromatic body.
Wednesday 14th October:
Peru (Single Estate) 65% - tropical, fruity and unique flavour tones, soft on the pall et and strong aroma, a delightfully light chocolate.
Thursday 15th October:
Costa Rica 64% - rich in depth with strong tones of coffee and molasses.
Friday 16th October:
Uganda 80% – sensuously earthy flavours, raw yet soft with a deep body - and Sao Tome - strong tones of dark spices and wood,20a chocolate with powerful presence.
Saturday 17th October:
Papua New Guinea 64% – delicate bitterness and dry, tones of black tea in flavour and texture with a fruity finish.

The Chocolate Consultant at Melt, Chocolate Unwrapped

Seventypercent.com - Chocolate Week at the Scotch Malt Whisky Society - all week

As part of Seventypercent.com’s ongoing love affair with fine whisky and chocolate, the London member rooms of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society will be opening their doors to non-members for daily sampling of matching fine chocolate and Society whiskies.

Every day from Mon 12 - Fri 16. Sign up for Society membership during your visit and you’ll receive four fine chocolate bars to go with your introductory whiskies.

As part of Seventypercent’s Chocolate Week programme, the London member rooms of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society will be opening their doors to non-members for daily sampling of matching fine chocolate and Society whiskies.

The Society’s London rooms are the home of Seventypercent’s regular monthly connoisseur tastings. We share a mutual love affair for fine, single cask malt whisky and fine chocolate and have together chosen five unique combinations of cask strength whisky and matching chocolate, one each of which will be on sample from Monday to Friday of Chocolate Week.

Chocolate samples will be free, and the matching whisky will be served at normal Society bar prices, or you can choose from over a hundred of the Society’s other unique single cask bottlings and create your own matches.

You can also take advantage of a Chocolate Week Society membership special and receive four selected fine chocolate bars to go with the four whiskies in your membership pack, giving you the chance to experiment with your own chocolate and whisky combinations. (Applies to Soceity membership when purchased at the London member rooms during Chocolate Week.)

Raw Chocolate & Organic Wine Tasting Event

Sunday 18th October 2009

Sweet Sensations, Just Natural and Ethical Edibles invite you to an intoxicating sampling event, combining raw chocolate and organic wine.

We will have samples of melt-in-your-mouth raw chocolate yumminess -  truffles, bars and desserts, all free from sugar, dairy, wheat, soy or gluten. We will also have our truffles, kits and desserts for sale if you wish to take some home with you.

The wines available for sampling will be selected for their special affinity with chocolate, so come prepared to have your tastebuds educated as well as delighted!

Why not make an afternoon of it, and wend your way through the award-winning Alexandra Palace Farmers Market before popping over to Just Natural for some wine and chocolate?
