White Chocolate Afternoon tea at Podium in the Hilton Park Lane

Podium Restaurant at The London Hilton on Park Lane will be marking Chocolate Week, the UK’s biggest chocolate event which runs from 12-18 October 2009, with a special white chocolate version of its popular ‘Confessions of a Chocoholic’ Afternoon Tea, made with Valrhona chocolate.
This limited edition tea will be available from Saturday 10 October  until 31 October 2009; chocolate lovers will be able to enjoy the following four course menu, all for £19.50 per person:
Sandwiches
Selection of open sandwiches on specially created breads:
Forman’s smoked salmon on orange and white chocolate bread
Brioche with chocolate ganache ‘mustard’ and ham
Prawns flecked with chilli chocolate
Cucumber and Philadelphia cheese
Egg mayonnaise on pain au lait

Scones
Scones served with white chocolate spread and nougatine
Miniature fancies
White chocolate Morello cherry parcel
White chocolate cheesecake  
White chocolate and apricot dome fancy

With a selection of biscuits, marshmallows and fresh fruits such as strawberries and pineapple for dipping

A choice of teas including English breakfast, Earl Grey, Darjeeling, Assam, Lapsang Souchong, Camomile, Jasmine, Peppermint and fruit infusions
Tea is served daily from 3-6pm and is priced at £19.50 per person.

Baked wild halibut, hazelnut and cocoa nib crust, fricassée of wild mushrooms
Venezuelan cracked cocoa nibs, fragrant yet robust flavour

Pan fried foie gras, chocolate and orange
64% Dominican Republic chocolate with a balance of sweetness and a delicate nutty, smoky taste.

Pot roast squab pigeon, candied carrots, Madeira and chocolate jus
66% Amedei Toscano black with its complex taste and aroma, adds

Chocoholics are in for a treat next week as the Hoxton Apprentice in London and Dartmouth Apprentice in Devon celebrate Chocolate Week.

From October 12 to 18th, chefs at the restaurants -  which train long-term unemployed - will be using creamy, dark, light and nutty chocolate, to create a menu of savoury and sweet delights.

Guests are encouraged to pop in to the restaurant and peruse a chocolate-inspired menu, sip a free chocolate cocktail and nibble on the free chocolates.
There is even a competition to win a year’s supply of chocolate from Divine, the restaurant’s partners for Chocolate Week.

Chocolate Week at Hoxton Apprentice is being run in partnership with Divine who produce delicious Fairtrade chocolate created to indulge chocolate lovers in their favourite treat and support a fairer system of trade at the same time

Celebrating Chocolate Week in Ilfracombe at North Devon’s Origin Chocolate Destination, in partnership with Seventypercent.com.


A week of chocolate menu items and origin chocolate sample for guests, to celebrate the launch of our new Origin Chocolate Destination partnership with The Elmfield, Ilfracombe.

The Elmfield is a stylish boutique hotel on North Devon’s unspoilt coast serving gourmet food in a family friendly atmosphere.

During Chocolate Week, each course of the menu will feature a dish made with fine origin chocolate, including the specially commissioned dessert ‘Assiette of chocolate’, a triple chocolate indulgent experience. Guests at The Elmfield will receive free origin chocolate samples in their rooms.
