Chocolate menu and free chocolate cocktails at Hoxton Apprentice

Chocoholics are in for a treat next week as the Hoxton Apprentice in London and Dartmouth Apprentice in Devon celebrate Chocolate Week.

From October 12 to 18th, chefs at the restaurants -  which train long-term unemployed - will be using creamy, dark, light and nutty chocolate, to create a menu of savoury and sweet delights.

Guests are encouraged to pop in to the restaurant and peruse a chocolate-inspired menu, sip a free chocolate cocktail and nibble on the free chocolates.
There is even a competition to win a year’s supply of chocolate from Divine, the restaurant’s partners for Chocolate Week.

Chocolate Week at Hoxton Apprentice is being run in partnership with Divine who produce delicious Fairtrade chocolate created to indulge chocolate lovers in their favourite treat and support a fairer system of trade at the same time

Celebrating Chocolate Week in Ilfracombe at North Devon’s Origin Chocolate Destination, in partnership with Seventypercent.com.


A week of chocolate menu items and origin chocolate sample for guests, to celebrate the launch of our new Origin Chocolate Destination partnership with The Elmfield, Ilfracombe.

The Elmfield is a stylish boutique hotel on North Devon’s unspoilt coast serving gourmet food in a family friendly atmosphere.

During Chocolate Week, each course of the menu will feature a dish made with fine origin chocolate, including the specially commissioned dessert ‘Assiette of chocolate’, a triple chocolate indulgent experience. Guests at The Elmfield will receive free origin chocolate samples in their rooms.

Chocs away at The Black Swan

Dessert lovers can indulge their passion for chocolate with a new themed break at a North Yorkshire hotel.

To mark National Chocolate Week 2009 (October 15 – 18) the award-winning Black Swan Hotel, Helmsley, is offering a special overnight package dedicated to the nation’s favourite sweet treat.

The aptly named Chocs Away package, includes overnight accommodation, a welcome bottle of Black Shiraz wine and a box of chocolates from Green & Black’s Alfresco collection, a full English breakfast and a unique six-course dinner served in the hotel’s Rutland Restaurant.

The dinner menu will change throughout the month but will always be accompanied by a trio of chocolates to follow dessert.  The main course dishes will also incorporate a chocolate-theme and may include dishes like white chocolate risotto served with parmesan, seared scallops and caviar, or pan fried venison, with beetroot, parsnips, bitter chocolate and venison jus.

The Black Swan Hotel is famed for its mouth-watering desserts and has its own in-house patisserie within the Black Sawn tearoom. 

The Chocs Away package is priced at £99 per person and is valid Sunday to Thursday throughout October 2009.  All dates are subject to availability.

Chocolate afternoon tea at The Cavendish Hotel

The luxurious Cavendish Hotel is celebrating National Chocolate Week by offering a limited edition Chocolate Afternoon Tea.  The tea will be available from Monday 12 October until Sunday 18 October 2009. 

The special tea will include a decadent trio of chocolate pastries and tarts, indulgent chocolate dipped strawberries and a luxury tasting platter of Casemir chocolates.  The afternoon tea also includes an extensive selection of Fairtrade teas and coffees, accompanied by a selection of freshly-made, free-range sandwiches and scones with clotted cream and organic preserves.
The Lounge is an elegant and sophisticated venue for Afternoon Tea.
